India's First Made-in-India EXIM Shipping Container Unveiled 

Marking a major milestone for India's manufacturing and logistics sector, Union Minister Shri Sarbananda Sonowal unveiled the country's first Made-in-India EXIM shipping container at ICD Dadri. Manufactured by DCM Containers, the container manufacturing vertical of DCM Shriram International, the container has been built for A.P. Moller – Maersk, one of the world's leading integrated logistics companies. This achievement reflects India's growing capability to manufacture world-class logistics infrastructure that meets the highest global quality and operational standards. 

The unveiling also marks a significant commercial milestone for the DCM Shriram International Group with the signing of a 1,000-container MoU with A.P. Moller – Maersk. More than a symbolic achievement, this partnership represents a strong commercial commitment and reinforces the confidence that global logistics leaders place in Indian manufacturing capabilities. 

For decades, the shipping containers used to transport India's exports were largely sourced from overseas. This milestone marks an important shift, demonstrating that India's engineering expertise, manufacturing excellence, and quality standards can consistently meet the rigorous requirements of global shipping companies. It reinforces India's emergence as a trusted contributor to the world's supply chain infrastructure and strengthens its position in global trade.
